Advanced Environmental Accounting & Footprinting

We conduct advanced research in environmental footprinting and GHG accounting to support empirically grounded calculations of environmental footprints of products, processes, and services.

Our research links supply chain data from life-cycle inventories and input-output accounts to live satellite observations and macroeconomic models (CGEs and IAMs) to evaluate footprints and scenarios, including supply chain and physical climate risk scenarios, at high spatio-temporal resolution.

For organizations, we can support navigation of

  • the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities
  • the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
  • the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
  • the Norwegian Transparency Act (forbrukertilsynet åpenhetsloven).

As collaborators in scientific research projects we can contribute with competency in coupling supply chain tools (LCA, EXIOBASE, GLORIA, and Eora), PhD co-supervision, and linking LCA and IO models with dynamic economic models and empirical satellite and sensor data.
